do it
i can’t sleep. this unfinished task keeps bothering me. we agreed to write a post by today, so i guess i’ve got about 15 minutes left…
tonight i met a friend i hadn’t seen in over two years. it’s crazy how you can once be so close to someone, even live together for a few months in a small studio and then just lose touch. a few days ago, almost by coincidence, i wrote her about the times we used to spend together every single day. it didn’t take long until we agreed to meet again. the best part was how easily we found a date, and suddenly here we are, just a few days later, sitting in a restaurant, catching up. we had a great talk, and the vibe was instantly back.
we discovered that we both struggle with the same thing: always wanting to do so much, having countless ideas, but… almost nothing ever gets done. why is that? and how can we change it? i think we just get too comfortable, we overthink, and then we hide behind excuses: “what’s it gonna take?” “i’m not sure i can do it” “i don’t have the time”… and so on. all these thoughts keep us from doing things that would actually make us feel alive.
my friend and i came to one simple but powerful solution: just do it.
don’t overthink. don’t wait. just do the things you actually want to do, like we did with that catch-up. it wasn’t complicated, it didn’t take months of planning, we just set a date and showed up.
life doesn’t have to be that serious, sometimes we just need to stop doubting and JUST DO the damn things.
