Why knowing a little is better than not knowing
Someone got the news this year that their dad had prostate cancer. The first thing they felt was dread. Everyone feels that. But the second thing they felt was steadier, because they had read about it before. They were not starting from zero.
Here is the part that stuck with me. Because they knew a little, they asked questions at the appointment that had not come up during the conversation. It changed how the man decided to go forward.
I am not a doctor. I found my own prostate issue the awkward way, years ago, after a friend at an airport said something to me. I have never forgotten how it felt to know nothing and have to catch up fast.
So that is why this community exists. Not to make you experts. To make sure you know enough to ask the next question when it matters.
If your dad or your husband got that news next week, what is the one thing you would want to already understand? Tell me below - your answer might be exactly what someone else here needs.

Prostate awareness for men and women. The prostate does not belong in the shadows with no understanding. Awareness is the key.
