This has just come out and is worth looking at.
A clinical trial called HERMES was presented at ASCO this week - one of the biggest cancer conferences in the world.
It compared two radiotherapy sessions against the standard five for localised prostate cancer. The outcomes were the same. Same cancer control. Similar side effects.
Now - this will not apply to every man. Stage and tumour type matter. Your oncologist has the full picture.
But you cannot ask the question if you do not know the option exists.
'Is the two-session course right for my case?' That is a conversation worth having before any treatment starts.
Has anyone here been through prostate radiotherapy? Did you know at the time what your options were - or did you find out later? I would like to hear your experience.
