The King Has All Authority
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” Matthew 28:18 Jesus does not share authority. He possesses all of it, and His Kingdom is revealed wherever He is obeyed. This is one of Jesus’ final statements after the resurrection. He is not speaking as a teacher offering ideas. He is speaking as the risen King declaring reality. He does not limit His authority to heaven, or to spiritual matters. He claims authority in heaven and on earth. That means nothing is outside His rule. Earlier, He began His ministry with, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Now He closes by revealing the authority behind that message. The Kingdom is not just a concept. The King has come, and all authority belongs to Him. If Jesus has all authority, why are there still areas of your life where you have the final say? Think about an embassy. It sits inside a foreign land, but it operates under the authority of another nation. That is what the Kingdom of God looks like. You may live here, work here, and move through this world, but your life is meant to operate under a different authority. The issue is not whether Jesus is King. The issue is whether you are actually living like He is. Luke 9:23 “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Today, do this: 1. Set aside 15 minutes alone with God 2. Read a passage from the Gospels 3. Ask honestly, “What is Jesus telling me to do?” 4. Identify one area you have been holding back 5. Surrender it and act on it today Do not overthink it. Obey what He has already made clear. #PreachersOfTheWord #BibleTruth #KingdomOfGod #AuthorityOfJesus #FunctionBeforePosition #ObedienceProvesCalling #ServantFirst
