YOUR FUTURE MAY BE HIDING INSIDE A SKILL YOU ARE DEVELOPING TODAY
Last night I delivered my Toastmasters speech,
and the feedback gave me more than confidence. It gave me perspective.
I’ve been learning a lot lately.
💥AI.
💥Digital tools.
💥3D printing.
💥Speaking.
💥Writing.
💥Business.
At times, those interests can look unrelated.
But I’m starting to see them differently.
They’re capabilities.
And capabilities create options.
My writing gives me ideas to speak about.
Speaking gives those ideas another way to reach people.
Technology gives me new ways to create.
Business gives me a way to think about how that creation produces value.
Maybe entrepreneurship isn’t always about
discovering one perfect opportunity.
Maybe sometimes it’s about developing enough
capability that opportunities begin connecting around you.
So my question isn’t:
What’s the next opportunity?
It’s:
What capability am I building that could create opportunities later?
That’s where I’m placing more of my attention.
Anyone else beginning to see connections between skills that once seemed unrelated?
