START HERE! Introduce Yourself: Where Are You Going Next?
Let’s keep introductions easy 😁 Reply with: 1. Where you live? 🏘️ 2. Where you’re travelling next?🛫 3. What is a "bucket list" destination for you? 🤩 Example: “I’m Jeroen, based in Belgium. My next trip is Bruges. I would love to travel to TOKYO. I tend to just take a photo of a place or event, to make sure i can say that I've been there but then I'm often disappointed with the photo and don't show it to anybody ” No pressure. No judging. 4. Anti-Postcard Travel Photo Checklist Attached!
The Anti-Postcard Travel Photo Checklist is a simple travel photography field guide that helps hobby photographers and travellers come home with more personal, story-driven photos. Instead of teaching complicated camera theory, it gives users one clear mission: collect a set of photos during a vacation or a weekend away. These shots capture where they went, who they went with, what they did, and the details, mood, weather, and any other small moments that made the place feel memorable. With easy camera settings, practical prompts, and easy tick-boxes to keep track of progress, the checklist helps travellers move beyond obvious postcard-style photos and create a small set of images they are genuinely proud to show. I have attached it here. ENJOY!!😀
Canvas Printing and Photo Quality
I have a photo I would like to print on a canvas and hang in my house. Challenge...It was taken on a phone so I'm not sure what the quality will be like if I print it at A1 size on canvas. Any suggestions on what I should look for in the photo properties to tell me if I can print or if I am wasting my money? I included the metadata for this photo from LrC. Not sure if this helps at all.
Canvas Printing and Photo Quality
Euro-trip!
Hi all, I'm currently out on a school summer vacation with the family so my activity on Skool will be a little sporadic. I created the anti-postcard checklist because I often found myself in places taking photo's of scenes or subjects that, if timed correctly, looked great but at the same time felt like all the other photos so I began asking myself questions like "what else is here?" or "this is really cool but it feels a bit like the same stuff, how can I change it?" and "I feel a little stuck, how do I loosen up?" and when I could answer these questions my photos began to look and feel a bit more personal, maybe not technically perfect, or the most optimal positioning of the camera to catch the best possible light etc, but personal, the pics i will print out or create a photo album with for friends and family to page through in the comfort of a couch at home...the first bunch can go on social media because they're "technically" the best ones...but often a little lifeless...So the checklist was born, to help as a reference when out on vacation, overwhelmed by the new place you're in or the sudden change in itinerary due to weather etc...and I've now used it a few times to help with some inspiration when it came pouring down in Plitvice nature reserve and I panicked a little that I won't get a single nice photo, or in Berchtesgaden when the boat turned differently to what I expected, so it works!...and now I find myself in Belgrade, Serbia....the sights, sounds and smells are extremely overwhelming...my first impressions of the city are old Communism meets new Democracy with a healthy dose of chaocracy (a society that functions because of the chaos lol)...STAY TUNED!
