Quick Steps To Check If A Pool Route For Sale Is A Good Deal To Buy
How can we be sure that a pool route is a good deal? Here are some indicators:
  1. Is the monthly average price competitive for the area (not too low, it's hard to raise prices sometimes without loosing customers). You can double check this by calling around and getting competitor quotes.
  2. Are they using the same pool route software as you or your preferred one (Skimmer vs. Pool Brain vs. Jobber etc.)
  3. Are they doing multiple filter cleans per year? (2 minimum - 4 per year is best).
  4. Are they charging enough for each filter clean? (should be close to the monthly avg price)
  5. Is the route tight? (Are the pools close to each-other)?
  6. Do they have a 60 or 90 day guarantee for customers who drop off (getting your money back for those customers if they drop off and its not your fault).
  7. Do the customers have many late payments or non payment history?
  8. Do they charge automatically with all Credit cards? or is it scattered with Zelle, Cash, Check blah blah blah. All on Credit Card autopay is BEST. You don't want to chase people around for money.
  9. Do they agree to use an Escrow service (to hold and distribute money) and official purchase contract.
  10. Is the Price equal to or less than 12 months service cost or less: (monthly avg x 12 months, or less months is better = cheaper price).
If all of these are checked off, you probably have a great deal on your hands! However most of the routes out there don't measure up to these so be careful when buying a route. Good luck, let us know what you think in the comments. Thanks
