Peace & Love To The Wonderful Poetry Business Network & All You Lovely Poetry Business Owners, Last week my sister hit me up saying she had an opening after she finished a shoot she booked. I'm like bet I'd love to do a shoot, easy. I'll be there. No real plans were made in regards to ideas but she knows I just published my book and have been doing my best to be obedient to God's will and not getting a job staying true to the vision I've been given. So she hit me yesterday saying she wanted me to come with a plan and that she wanted to get some shots of me with my book. Thursday I opened my email to another invite to be a featured artist in an article so early Sunday my creative vision clicked and the juices started a flowing. Today we had a beautiful photoshoot while my kids waited (semi-patiently) for free because my dear sister wants me to "sell a lot of books." Her genuine gift, care, and precision just gave me every bit of life that I truly need as life has been wading. I have been pushing through so many unseen battles. God constantly places people in my path just like my neighbor who never speaks knocked on my door to give me a chocolate mini frosty that brought me to tears. I'm sharing this to encourage somebody here that has the vision burning inside of them that keeps them up at night like myself. Trust yourself and God to be assistant in bringing your God-given vision to life in ways that are both profound and divine. Temple & Tongue Studios —a poetry, film, and storytelling studio that expresses the mission through art, is now the Creative/production arm of my holistic wellness nonprofit organization - Temple Health Concepts. I had 2 performers from the audience wanting to perform next month, a performer telling me that he can also host, and 3 new members for our PBN MO chapter. Our documentarian was there recording from all angles. And I heard laughter from the audience while we performed my skits. Normal patrons were happy to enjoy a show while they ate. New customers ordered food and drinks that had never been there. The owner was happy to see the room filled. I was able to intro my company, invite creatives to join our Mo chapter of creatives, and reenact 4 of my stories. It was a great night. Not sure the LIVE link worked in the app. Maybe the sound was too loud. The team decided to dedicate the Dec 21 show to pre Kwanzaa. More on that soon.
