First, here is some data: in 2023, a survey found that 81% of China's population had purchased something through livestream commerce. (That's over a billion people!)
Social commerce is massive there, and buying goods and services off of livestreams is the norm (think QVC on steroids).
People make entire careers just out of selling on livestreams.
Some of the top sellers in China are doing $14 million in sales in a single live stream. Yes, that number is correct!
The USA isn't even close to hitting China's percentage of people buying through livestreams, but it is growing year after year.
The global livestream e-commerce market was valued at approximately $940.3 billion in 2024 and the market is projected to reach an estimated $6.08 trillion by 2035.
It's a pretty good assumption to think that livestream social commerce is the future here too.
I myself have done really well with live selling and I plan to go after it even harder in 2026.
This doesn't just apply to goods, but also to services. I know plenty of people selling courses and community access on lives and having great success with it.
I would start going live now, building those connections and getting ready for what is coming.
