· Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (Abraham Maslow):
Physiological (Bottom of Pyramid)>>Safety Needs>>Belongingness>>Esteem>>Self-actualization (Top of Pyramid)
· McGregor’s X and Y Theory:
Theory X – Micromanager (not good to follow); Theory Y – Possess positive mindset & liked by team members (better to follow).
· Theory Z (Dr. William Ouchi): Focusses on increasing employee loyalty & wellbeing, which result in increased productivity.
· David McClelland’s theory of needs/ Achievement theory/ Three needs theory: It states that achievement, power & affiliation are needed to motivate team members.
· Herzberg’s theory/ Two factor theory: It states that hygiene (job security, safety, good pay etc) & motivating (achievement, responsibility, growth etc.) factors are needed to motivate team members.
