PMI has released the draft version of PMBOK 8!

What does this mean for you?

Based on past experience, we anticipate that the finalized version of PMBOK 8 will likely be available between August and October 2025. Historically, PMI starts incorporating new PMBOK versions into the exam about six months after the guide’s release.

This suggests that the PMP exam could be updated to align with PMBOK 8 in early 2026. For those planning to take the exam, it would be a smart move to schedule it in 2025 under the current version.
