Weekly Wins
Learning things is cool. That's why we're here. Having an awesome support group along for the ride is just as important. Now that there are some lessons up, I thought it would be cool for anyone who had a win this week to share it. It can be that you got through a handful of lessons, or you had a solid practice with your band. No win is too small! I'll start. My band managed to book shows for every weekend in September. Usually we play over Labor Day, and then we are on break until after Christmas, so I am super stoked to be playing all month. What's your win?

Classroom Update
Yo everybody — quick reminder for anyone who hasn’t spent much time exploring the Classroom yet.. There are now 50+ free lessons, trainings, beats and play-alongs waiting for you in there. You’ll find: - Bass Training lessons on timing, chord tones, scales, groove, rhythm and more - 20+ beats in the Beat Lab - 12 chord progression jams - 4 Ear Training lessons - The complete Bass 101 beginner course - My Shred the E Minor Pentatonic training (one of my favorites and a scale I still use everyday!!) - And more coming Some of these are lessons and concepts I also teach inside my private Mastermind, so there’s some seriously good stuff in there. Jump into the Classroom and explore. And as you work through things, we’d love to hear if anything is clicking for you, what you’re enjoying, (or even what you don’t like- nothing sacred here we’re all just trying to improve) and any wins you’re having… we’d love to hear from you 🤟🏼 Looking forward to seeing what you guys do with all of it. Wayne Intro.
Hey everyone. I am a 57 year old that picked up the bass again after 30 years. I was never good. I have been playing off and on, for the last 6 years with no real focus. I want two things. First, I want to be able to groove better. I want to be able to improvise bass lines, mostly in the jazz and latin jazz styles of music, but also different styles. I want to be able to play in jazz groups without feeling that I can't contribute.
Practice Space
I have a couple places where I practice. I have an Ampeg micro-VR and Zoom B6 set up in my office. This is where I'll learn songs usually. I can put sections of songs to loop and slow them down with Moises through my computer. Then in my basement I currently have a Boss Katana 500 running through a couple Seismic Audio 410's. I also have an Ampeg Venture V7, I switch between the two amps depending on how I'm feeling. Anyway, this is where we have band practice. My wife is very cool and doesn't mind the noise, she also plays keyboards and sings backup vocals in the band.
