One of the most sought-after “terrarium-friendly” anthurium species. Major populations span across the Central American Peninsula, from Costa Rica to Panama. Low light conditions produce larger leaves in mature plants with an almost genuine black color. These are intensely bullate when grown dark but will then change to more compact, greener leaves when exposed to higher light intensities (over 2,800 lux).
They originate from areas of high precipitation, so they require high humidity; These require terrarium culture and do best on a trellis/moss pole/tree fern fiber plank. Consistent temp and humidity are key, so these are not a beginner plant.
