New member intro 👋🏻
Hello everyone! I am trying to figure out which of my talents/hobbies/interests would be of best interest to the community… perhaps you could help.
A little about me…I love using arts of all medium forms and have been crafting my whole life. I also have somehow become a “crazy plant lady” or practice what I like to call “HOARDaculture” 😂 but my most immense passion is working with families and children in the hopes of creating a more sustainable and healthy future for families of all kinds.
Most importantly, I am a wife to a wonderfully talented husband and mother of five children (from elementary level to adulthood). So experience with children and family on a personal level has never been a missing component in my story.
I earned my BS degree in Child & Family Studies and have also taken some Master’s-level courses in relation to Marriage & Family Therapy specializing in children and adolescents (but have not yet obtained degree as life got in the way). For over ten years I have worked with diverse families in various settings and situations from the public schools to in-home visits, from child development and parenting education, to community involvement and state initiatives. I’ve served underrepresented youth as well as provided therapeutic practices for families and children impacted by major life events or found themselves involved with state officials, needing reunification services.
So, what am I doing here? I’m basically looking to utilize my skills, hobbies, and interests in ways that will benefit others while simultaneously providing me the opportunity to accumulate some additional income in a more feasible way - in my own way - and on my own schedule.
What has your experience on Skool been like so far and do you think I will be able to make something happen?
