RESET WEEK 2: TO-DO LISTS
Last week we acknowledged the many titles we carry and how we show up every day. This week we're resetting something many of us rely on daily - our to-do lists.
For many, the to-do list becomes overwhelming because it grows faster than we can manage it... and guess what... that's ok! Just because it's on our list to be done, doesn't mean it has to get done when we write it down. My to do list right now is 4 pages (front and back). I'm not overwhelmed by it.. I'm excited about.
It means when I sit down to do my planning, I can review what needs to be done in the coming week. Everything else will wait.
Just because you wrote down you need to go to the cleaners, doesn't mean it has to happen this week. Just because you wrote down to mail out greeting cards, doesn't mean it has to get done this week. Just because you wrote down to clean off the shelf, doesn't mean it has to get done this week. See where I'm going with this?
It's written down so you remember not so you can do it right now.
You should have one notebook for your to do list. This organizes the tasks and allows you to stay on track. Having a notebook, post its, notes in phone, notes stuck in books and who knows where else... isn't the order you need.
How are you currently organizing your to-do's? Or are your to-do's overwhelming you.
Let's talk about it.
