Ducks
While life has gotten really busy, I haven’t even had a chance to go on this app, but I have a question for the community here. How do you guys feel about having ducks with a flock of chicken? My chickens are only three weeks old i have 24 total , but I really wanna have four ducks so I was thinking of getting them about the same age as the chickens and keeping them together but with a little seperation, kinda like an Inlaw arrangement with a house ha ha ha thoughts ? Input appreciated https://x.com/awesomevideos07/status/1909844379319312546?s=42 This melted my heart this morning :)

Chickening Success Path
After many conversations with you here, I have laid out our first course and the path to egg-cellence... Ever wondered what it takes to go from "I want chickens" to "My urban homestead generates cash flow"? 🐔💰 I’ve sketched out the —the step-by-step guide I used to become a "Chicken Pimp." Here’s a quick rundown of the path: 1. I want/just got chickens – Starting point. You’re excited, but unsure of what comes next. 2. Chick Care – Learn the basics to keep your little peeps healthy and happy from day one. 3. Flock Management – Establish routines for feeding, cleaning, and keeping your coop in shape. 4. Self-Sufficiency – Now you’re thinking bigger: reducing dependency on store-bought feed and boosting egg production sustainably. 5. Chicken Business – Set up your small-scale operation to generate income while maintaining humane practices. 6. Chicken Pimp – You’ve arrived! Self-sufficient and thriving, your homestead now generates cash flow and serves as a model of humane, sustainable farming. What You'll Gain in Each Stage As you progress, we’ll dive into things like: - Hydroponic Fodder: Straight from “Thinking Outside The Soil,” learn how to produce your own feed that’s nutrient-packed, budget-friendly, and urban-friendly. - Humane Flock Management: Drawn from “Pimp Your Homestead,” we’ll cover everything from daily routines to setting up a coop that meets Certified Humane standards. - Business Essentials: For those wanting to take it up a notch, I’ll share how to turn your passion for chickens into a revenue stream. Why This Path Matters The Chickening Success Path isn’t just about raising chickens—it’s about building a self-sufficient lifestyle where your homestead supports you, your family, and your community. Each step is designed to give you the confidence and skills to be an urban farmer who raises chickens with care, compassion, and purpose. I am uploading the content over the next couple of days.... So, where are you on the path? Whether you're just starting or looking to level up, let’s talk about where you’re at and what you need to reach that next milestone.
