Day 1 build log — first call flow live on VAPI
Building in public so the community has receipts on day one.
Stack: VAPI for voice, Eleven Labs Sarah (Northern UK female accent) for the voice, Cal.com for booking, Slack webhook for owner notifications. Total spin-up: 3 hours and 47 minutes including coffee.
Voice agent does three things only: qualifies the call, gets postcode and emergency status, books a slot or hands off via SMS. The 380-word system prompt is what carries it. Will share the prompt in Vertical Templates this week.
Cost per call: about £0.06. Plumber will pay £750/month. Margin is silly.
Tomorrow: cold-emailing the first 30 UK plumbers with a free 14-day pilot offer. I will post the cold script and the response numbers here regardless of how brutal they are. Drop a comment if you want me to test your stack.
