Self-care isn’t always soothing. Sometimes it’s quietly brave. I’ve been in this space recently — needing to say something, needing respect, and not quite knowing how to ask for it. Listening, in those moments, means noticing where you’ve been holding back …or accommodating at your own expense. It’s admitting you’re overwhelmed. It’s acknowledging you’ve outgrown something. It’s letting yourself feel without rushing to fix. That kind of listening takes courage — because honesty with yourself comes first.
