If you have ever sat down at the piano knowing you should practise, but you weren’t exactly sure what to work on first, I would love you to check this out. I created a small tool with 20 simple true-or-false statements that will help you discover, in under two minutes, which of five common obstacles may be quietly working against your progress. At the end, you will receive three or four practical steps you can try this week, based on your result. Of course, each step can be broken down into even smaller actions. You are very welcome to share your result with us so that we can explore those next steps and work on them together. If you take the self-check, I would love to know which result you received. Share it in the comments if you feel comfortable - or simply tell us whether the result surprised you. There are no bad results. The goal is simply to understand what may be holding you back and what you can do today to make your practice feel easier, clearer and more productive. You can find the self-check in the Classroom under Unstuck at the Piano: A Two-Minute Self-Check.
