Retail to hospital: 4 retail skills that actually transfer
Thinking about moving from retail to hospital? You're probably bringing more than you think. Hospital tech postings often ask for things retail already trains: 1. Inventory + ordering → par levels and automated cabinet restocking 2. NDC + strength checks at fill → unit-dose and cart-fill accuracy 3. Insurance rejections + phone problem-solving → working the queue with nurses and pharmacists 4. Controlled-substance counts → C-II vault and documentation habits Quick move: pull up one real hospital posting near you, pick the 2 skills that match it, and write one sentence each: "In retail, I ___, which maps to ___." That's your resume bullet and your interview answer. Every posting is different (some want sterile compounding or a specific credential), so read the requirements line by line. The First Job Accelerator in the Classroom walks through this, and Study Hall is tonight 7–7:45 PM CT if you want to work through yours live. 👇 Drop your answer: which retail skill are you leaning on — Inventory, Accuracy checks, Problem-solving, or C-II counts? Add Retail-now or Hospital-now.

20,600 pharmacy tech jobs are open right now
SonicJobs refreshed over the weekend. There are about 20,600 open pharmacy technician jobs in the U.S. right now — roughly 10% more than a week ago. A few things that matter if you're job hunting: • About half of those listings are part-time — useful if you're studying for the PTCE or ExCPT • Almost none are remote (under 1%), so local applications still win • Big chains like CVS are posting thousands of openings What to do this week (20 minutes): 1. Pick 3 openings near you 2. Copy 5–7 exact phrases from each posting into the top third of your resume 3. Apply direct on the employer's site, not only through a job board No guarantees on callbacks or pay. State registration rules still apply before you can start. Drop Retail or Hospital + your city/state below — and whether you're Exam, First Job, or already On the Bench. Educational community only. Not affiliated with PTCB or NHA.

Study LASA pairs as a triple — not a flashcard dump
Look-alike / sound-alike (LASA) mix-ups feel endless until you stop memorizing random name lists. For study and for the bench, learn each pair as a triple: 1) How they LOOK alike 2) How they SOUND alike 3) The ONE differentiator you will check on the label (strength, form, or a clear indication cue) Build 5–10 triples you will actually reuse — that beats a 50-name flashcard dump every time. Drop your #1 LASA pair below — and your differentiator: strength, form, or indication?
