Tough Competition Weekend
This weekend took us to Stirling for the SPA Home Nations qualifiers, 32 teams battling it out for just 8 coveted spots. Two intense days, 12 matches, each game 55 minutes plus 2 ends. No easy moments.
Heading in with a new team, only ever having played bounce doubles together, we set our sights high: qualification was the goal.
It didn’t come easy.
Across the 12 games, there were moments where it felt like we’d let it slip. In four matches alone, we dropped 3 or 4 points right on the whistle, the kind of margins that keep the pressure firmly on. But what stood out wasn’t the mistakes it was the response. No frustration, no blame. Just constant encouragement and belief in each other.
That made the difference.
By the end of the weekend, we finished 6th.
Overjoyed doesn’t quite cover it, representing my nation again.
