Woods Personal Safety
Take precautions when in the woods. Carry a cell phone and always inform someone when you expect to return. If they don't hear from you, they start the search process. Also bring a firearm for protection and as a distress signal. Three fast shots are the way to sound the alarm.

The Fit Survive
You don’t need to be a world class athlete to survive a life and death situation. However a good combination of stamina and strength can be very beneficial in those situations. First I always suggest avoiding a conflict when possible. You will need mobility to do that and endurance. Start walking jumping rope riding a bike. The other side of that equation is straight. Start a basic resistance training routine. You might have to fight someone before you can break contact with them. The fitter you are the greater your survival rate. Train two times a week and you will see results.

A woman’s fear of assault
I have trained thousands of students how to protect themselves. I always want to hear their story. What brought them to this place where they feel that they need the ability to defend themselves. The most memorable are my female students. One in particular made it clear that all women fear being assaulted. The reason she was in my class was to give herself the ability to avoid a conflict if possible, and stop a threat if there was no other option. I believe that one of the best things a woman can do to protect herself is learning how to operate a handgun. They need to be professionally trained and understand the laws of justified self-defense for the state that they reside. A trained female has a much better chance of stopping a threat, especially a sexual assault if she is armed.
