🧠 SEMAX: WHAT IS IT?
Semax comes up a lot in focus and "brain peptide" conversations. Here's what it actually is and what the research does and doesn't show. WHAT IT IS Semax is a short, lab-made peptide (7 amino acids). It was developed in Russia and is based on a small piece of ACTH, a hormone the body makes naturally, with a few changes to make it last longer. In Russia it's used as a nasal drop. It is not approved by the FDA in the U.S. or in the EU. WHAT PEOPLE USE IT FOR • Focus and mental energy • Memory and learning • Recovery after stroke (its main medical use in Russia) • Stress and mental fatigue WHAT THE RESEARCH ACTUALLY SHOWS • Animals: rat studies show changes in brain growth signals like BDNF, plus some protective effects in brain-injury models. • Humans: most studies are Russian clinical studies in stroke and other brain conditions. Many are older and small, and few have been repeated by outside research groups. • Healthy people: there is very little solid research on Semax as a focus or memory booster for people without a medical condition. Evidence level: Early for its medical uses in Russia. Very Early to Anecdotal for everyday focus in healthy people. COMMON QUESTIONS How is it taken in the studies? Mostly as nasal drops or spray. That's the form most of the research uses. What is "N-Acetyl Semax Amidate"? It's a modified version sold online and marketed as stronger. It has far less research behind it than regular Semax. Does it feel like caffeine? It isn't a classic stimulant, and personal reports vary a lot. Online stories about how it "feels" are anecdotes, not study results. Is it safe? Russian studies report it as generally well tolerated in their patients. Long-term safety data from independent studies, especially in healthy people, are limited. EASY WAY TO REMEMBER IT Semax = a Russian nasal peptide studied mainly for stroke recovery, now popular online as a focus aid. BOTTOM LINE Semax has more human history than most "brain peptides." But that history is mostly regional, older, and medical. Claims that it's a proven brain booster for healthy people go beyond the research.

LH: THE SIGNAL THAT HELPS DRIVE TESTOSTERONE PRODUCTION
💪 LH: THE SIGNAL THAT HELPS DRIVE TESTOSTERONE PRODUCTION LH stands for luteinizing hormone. WHAT IT IS LH is made by the pituitary gland. In men, one of its main jobs is telling the Leydig cells in the testes to make testosterone. WHY IT MATTERS • Low testosterone + high LH can point toward a testicular problem • Low testosterone + low or normal LH can point toward a signaling problem higher up the chain • LH is only one piece of the hormone picture EASY WAY TO REMEMBER IT Brain signal → pituitary → LH → testes → testosterone. BOTTOM LINE LH helps show whether your body is sending the testosterone-production signal correctly. More TRT & Hormone definitions inside Peptide Index.
