🤒🧬 SICK? LET’S TALK PEPTIDES + GLUTATHIONE + THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
When you’re dealing with an illness, it’s important not to assume that every compound discussed online is appropriate, effective, or safe to use. 😅 A better question is: What has actually been studied, in which settings, and how strong is the evidence? 🔥 THYMOSIN ALPHA-1 (TA-1) Thymosin alpha-1 is an immune-modulating peptide investigated in clinical and experimental settings, including some infectious diseases. Research suggests that it may influence aspects of innate and adaptive immune function, but findings have been mixed. It should not be presented as a general treatment for illness. ➡️ Research focus: immune signaling and immune-response regulation 🦠 LL-37 LL-37 is a naturally occurring antimicrobial peptide produced by the body. Laboratory and preclinical studies have examined its potential roles in antimicrobial defense, inflammation, and immune signaling. ➡️ Research focus: antimicrobial mechanisms and immune signaling ⚠️ Evidence supporting injectable LL-37 for treating illness in humans is limited. Its safety, dosing, and clinical effectiveness have not been established for general use. 🧬 BPC-157 BPC-157 is an experimental peptide that has received attention for possible effects on tissue repair and inflammation. Most available evidence comes from laboratory and animal studies, while high-quality human clinical evidence remains limited. ➡️ Research focus: tissue-repair mechanisms and inflammation in preclinical research ✨ GLUTATHIONE — A MAJOR CELLULAR ANTIOXIDANT First, an important distinction: glutathione isn’t a peptide. It is a naturally occurring antioxidant made from three amino acids: 🔹 Cysteine 🔹 Glutamic acid 🔹 Glycine Glutathione helps maintain cellular redox balance and contributes to the body’s antioxidant defense systems. It is also involved in several biochemical pathways, including processes related to the metabolism of certain drugs and compounds. ➡️ Research focus: antioxidant defense, redox balance, and cellular protection Illness and inflammation can be associated with changes in oxidative stress, but this does not establish that taking glutathione will prevent, shorten, or treat an illness. Evidence may vary according to the formulation, route of administration, health condition, and study design.

Nad+
🔥🧬 WHAT’S THE HYPE ABOUT NAD+? NAD+ is a molecule your cells naturally use for energy production, DNA repair, metabolism and cellular signaling. Because NAD+ levels may change with age, illness, stress and other factors, it has become popular in the wellness and longevity space. But the hype is moving faster than the evidence. 💡 1. WHY ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT NAD+? NAD+ is involved in: ✔️ Cellular energy production ✔️ Mitochondrial function ✔️ DNA repair pathways ✔️ Redox balance ✔️ Metabolic signaling ✔️ Cellular stress responses These roles have led to claims that NAD+ may support energy, mental clarity, recovery, healthy aging, metabolism and longevity. The biology is interesting. That does not automatically mean taking NAD+ will produce dramatic or predictable results. 💊 2. WHAT ARE NAD+ PRODUCTS? Products marketed around NAD+ may contain different ingredients, including: ✔️ NAD+ ✔️ NADH ✔️ Nicotinamide riboside, or NR ✔️ Nicotinamide mononucleotide, or NMN ✔️ Other vitamin B3–related compounds These are related, but they are not interchangeable. A product labeled “NAD support” may not contain NAD+ itself. Always check the exact ingredient, amount, formulation and source. 💉 3. WHAT ABOUT NAD+ INJECTIONS? Injectable NAD+ is used in some wellness settings, including intravenous and subcutaneous products. An injection bypasses digestion and may create a different exposure profile than an oral product. However, bypassing the digestive tract does not automatically make a product more effective, safer or clinically proven. Injectables also introduce additional concerns: ⚠️ Injection-site pain, redness, swelling or irritation ⚠️ Contamination or improper handling ⚠️ Incorrect storage or preparation ⚠️ Allergic or infusion-related reactions ⚠️ Higher cost and less convenience ⚠️ Limited evidence for many advertised uses Injectable products should come through appropriate medical and pharmacy channels and be used with professional guidance. 🔬 4. WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH ACTUALLY SHOW?
