Shines vs. Partnerwork
I recently had a student tell me, “I don’t really see the point of doing shines. I just want to learn partnerwork—it's not like I’ll actually use shines when I’m social dancing, so why bother?”
I have plenty of thoughts on this, but I’d love to hear yours first. Do you enjoy shines, partnerwork, or both? And do you think shines are important to practice?
