I found Jonas via his YouTube video channel. Following that I joined his academy and also have recently paid for the 3 month summer coaching sessions. I have found Jonas to be an excellent, patient and extremely knowledgeable coach both in personal sessions as well as group sessions. No questions are too dumb for him to explain things and his training has helped me to improve my confidence, positional understanding and endgame knowledge. Best of all he is able to meet everyone at their level.

I never had any formal chess training and started playing late in life. Before meeting Jonas I was looking at numerous YouTube videos professing a new scheme like, ‘This is the only opening you will ever need to reach 1800’. After many videos and purchasing a couple of opening courses I still made no progress. I was about to give up on playing when I ran across Jonas’s Pegasus Chess Academy. His CCTO approach is a game changer. I am gradually learning how to actually play chess.

Since joining, my ratings have increased 200–300 points depending on the time control. Jonas is knowledgeable, patient, affordable, and very responsive. His weekly classroom sessions, where he reviews student games and teaches high-level concepts, are my favorite part of the program. Highly recommend Jonas!

Since being part of the Pegasus Chess Academy my understanding of chess has greatly improved. The community offers great support and offers insights into anyone’s chess journey with its ups and downs and great encouragement along the way. The training videos are excellent and are worth the subscription price of being a paid member. Whilst there are alternative sites offering chess coaching this one to me is the best. Highly recommend trying it out and becoming a member.

I found Jonas through YouTube and started with his free courses before joining Skool. The free material alone helped me go from 450 to 850 ELO, and now I’m working toward 1000. Jonas is a great teacher because he focuses on understanding and learning how to think rather than memorizing moves. He’s incredibly involved, responds quickly to questions, and even reviews students’ games personally. The community is welcoming, and there’s always something new to learn.
