In this video, I do a quick EMC/EMI review of an open-source industrial printed circuit board.
First, I’ll take you through a hands-on look at the board and show you how I spot potential EMI issues directly on the PCB.
Then, we’ll jump into a layout simulation using the electromagnetic and signal integrity software Simbeor to double-check those first impressions and see if this board is ready for EMC testing.
The design you’re about to see comes from Gabriele Marocco — a member of the EMI Control Academy and someone who shares a lot of knowledge on his YouTube channel.
If you’re new here, my name is Dario Fresu.
I’m a fourth-generation electrical specialist and the CEO and Principal EMI Engineer at Fresuelectronics.com, where we help engineers in companies of all sizes master EMI control and electromagnetic compatibility in their designs. To electromagnetic enlightenment,
Dario
P.S. Want to master EMI control so that you can pass EMC tests?
