Hey everyone — I’m John Brophy.

I’m a father of three, husband of 27 years, and an uncle who probably shows up to too many games and competitions with a camera in hand. My family keeps me grounded — my daughters are both into competitive cheer, my son’s a second-dan black belt in taekwondo, and I’m the kind of dad who calls “golfing” an excuse to hang out, laugh, and lose a few balls together.

I live in Des Moines, Iowa, and I’ve spent the last 20 years running a business with my wife called Midwest Business Marketing. We started as a tiny print shop and built it into a full marketing and design company. Along the way, I got deep into sales, organizing, and communication — helping small businesses, union locals, and teams of all kinds grow and connect with people the right way.

I’ve always loved the creative side of what I do — building, designing, and bringing ideas to life. Whether it’s woodworking in my garage or developing new tools like Sage, my AI-powered sales coach, that same spirit of creating something useful drives me.

All of that led to The Growth Room — a space for entrepreneurs, coaches, and creators to learn how to grow without losing themselves in the process. Inside, we focus on building systems, learning the Gentle Sales Method, and using tools that make life and business a little simpler.

More than anything, I believe in helping people win — because when you do, so do I.
