Monday Class With The Students – Summary (24/11/2025)
- Recording Platform: Previous class recordings are available for review and include interactive features for questions and comments. Continued use will be monitored; subscription may be cancelled if engagement doesn't improve in the next 3 sessions.
- Class Participation: Turning on camera during sessions is mandatory. Active engagement and asking questions are strongly encouraged to enhance learning and communication skills.
- Salesforce Certifications: Overview of different career paths (admin, developer, consultant, business analyst), each with its own certification via Trailhead. The curriculum is provided in the shared community link.
- Salesforce Exam Details: Exams generally have 65 questions (60 scored, 5 unscored test questions), with a 65% pass mark (39 correct). Exam fee is about £160 (discount coupons may be available). Exams are taken online (proctored) or at official centres.
- Trailhead Practice: Trailhead offers both quizzes (multiple choice) and hands-on challenges using a playground or developer org. Points for progress are shown on your profile.
- Active Learning Approach: Emphasis is on practicing, asking questions, participating in community discussions, and sharing learning insights. Communication skills are vital for job readiness.
- Salesforce User Management: Practical walkthrough of creating, managing, onboarding, and offboarding Salesforce users. Explained the need for unique usernames, email addresses, roles, and profiles.
- Freezing vs Deactivating Users: Freezing is a temporary lock (preserves license), while deactivating frees up the license for another user.
- Salesforce Health Check: Security tool to scan for risks like weak passwords. Admins should review and adjust settings as recommended.
- Login Access Policies: "Login as user" must be enabled for admins to troubleshoot user issues securely.
- Classic vs Lightning Experience: Differences between interfaces, how to switch, and how to grant Lightning access (via profile cloning or permission sets).
- Scenario-Based Learning: Encouraged to enroll and practice scenario-based modules on core Salesforce concepts, especially security and data models.
- Developer Org Recommendation: Using a developer org is recommended (but not mandatory) for Trailhead hands-on exercises. Maintain a separate org for personal projects.
- Platform Usage: Usage of the recording and community platform will be assessed; continued funding depends on perceived value.
