WELCOME!! So glad you are here! We are Past the Gate where aspiring actors, creatives, and dreamers get the tools (and support) they need to break into the industry with confidence. Here’s how we keep this space inspiring, safe, and productive for everyone: 1. Be Positive This is a growth space, not a gossip space. Vent if you need to, but always come back to a solution-oriented mindset. 2. Make an Effort You don’t need to be perfect, just present. Watch the trainings, ask questions, offer feedback, and show up for yourself. 3. Be Kind No shade. No snark. No superiority complex. Everyone is at a different point in their journey, and that’s what makes this community powerful. 4. Be Encouraging Celebrate other people’s wins as if they were your own. Acting is hard enough, this is where we cheer each other on. 5. No Spam or Self-Promotion No sliding in with “DM me for coaching” or posting your course link unless you've cleared it with admin first. Keep it classy. 6. We post their events here on our calendar! Georgia doesn’t need more noise. It needs education, informed communities, and industry leaders willing to invest in the future. The Georgia Arts Initiative (GAII) is a nonprofit led by working professionals, focused on education, community, and involvement in the future of the Atlanta film market. Self-Tape Help
Post here when you need help with your self-tapes! This includes lighting setups, sound, backgrounds, reader issues, gear, editing apps, and anything else technical or performance-related. Examples: - “Does this lighting look OK?” - “How do I frame a full-body shot in a small space?” - “Can someone give feedback on this take?” Please don’t post general acting questions here—use the Acting Questions category for those.
