The Quiet Climb
Welcome to The Quiet Climb. I have been putting this community off for a while. Partly because I did not feel ready. Partly because I was not sure anyone would care. I got tired of waiting to feel ready before starting something. I'm not a coach or guru and I am not at the top of anything. I am somewhere in the middle of my own climb and I built this so we could do it together.
Changing Small Things in My Routine Stops Me From Showering
The title may seem strange and downright embarassing for me. However, it’s true. It starts off with me being excited for something new to be a part of my life like a new class or a new friend in my life that I want to show up for. As my life may be going great and I am getting everything I need to get done finished I then think, “…wait I haven’t showered or brushed my teeth at all today”. I lose myself sometimes when I get focused and change anything in my routine even if it’s something beneficial. This is why last year I realized I need to add even the most simple things to my planners. If any of you are like me or just want to learn something new from this then welcome! I find having journals to write down your thoughts has been extremely useful for myself when it is done with a pen and paper instead of typing on a phone or tablet. I find the writing with a pen really pushes it into your mind as well with the act of writing. I went out to the store a few years ago and found a small planner that seemed useful since I just ended up losing track of everything I had to do because I was always too busy or too lazy to write things down thinking I would remember it all if I just texted myself reminders. Texting myself didn’t work. Go figure! XD The three planners I have different reasons. My little planner is small but its a 2 year planner. It is meant for when I am out in the world and I need to add something before I forget like any important deadline. Writing it down in the smallest planner helps me get it out of my mind so I have more space for the things I am working on. When I get home, I transfer everything I added to the small planner to my big dry erase board at home so I have a visual of things coming up. Lastly, my notepad is sticky notes which I add one by one onto my computer monitor starting from most important to least important and I take off the sticky note from my computer monitor as I finish them. With all of this being said I sometimes still struggle with keeping track of things. However, my life has improved drastically by realizing that I need to put time and effort in making sure I keep track of all my tasks for the day, the week, and the month.
