wasnt expecting to do this today but my mate sent me a recording this morning of him on the radio being interviewed after winning the Braunton seagull screeching competition 😂😂😂 and said make something out of it. so i gave myself 4 hours and here is what i've done. The recording was from a phone recording the radio, so obviously it's terrible quality and with background noise but i've done my best in the short time. I had my kick and snare ready to go from my presets but everything else is made from scratch or a sample - no prep frame. after the 4 hours i took a break then 10 more minutes for tidying up best i could. i'll include the original recording below as well. 😅

I'm trying to recreate a nexus patch in serum and as simple as it sounds I'm struggling to nail the actual tone(?) of the sound. its nearly there but missing that last bit. clips below are the original nexus and where I've got to so far with the serum patch. any feedback/input would be appreciated 😎

Insight of the day goes to @Toivo Toikka with the following banger he messaged me privately (shared with permission): "I noticed that it is easier to do A and B parts when the lifting is there. The change does not sound so drastic" This is exactly right. When you use Heavy Lifting chains, transitions get better/easier by default. 👌 This is a good argument for doing Heavy Lifting chains early on in your workflow. 😎

Watching some content on MB distortion, a couple of comments relate to "distorting lower freqs reduces risk of aliasing and add glue - higher risk of aliasing the further up the spectrum you go... due to foldback" For clarity is this concept of "foldback" referring to impacts of nyquist (e.g. horizontal foldback) rather than vertical foldback (wave folding) which is a totally different concept If so I get it, just testing my assumption
