The Hierophant
The next card in our journey through learning about the Major Arcana cards is the Hierophant
The Hierophants number (5) represents freedom and change. This number being half way between 1 and 10 indicates some stability but also the potential for chaos
The figure represents a trusted leader with male energy, a person of schooled wisdom. You can see some of his followers have come to him seeking advice.
There are many such leaders, trusted figures, around the world, and they usually represent the spiritual beliefs of the people living in a specific village/city/country. It is their sole/soul purpose to help guide the people's in their daily lives. We all need order and direction to help give our lives meaning
Sometimes however we may disagree with the rules and expectations of a particular belief system and it's practices. We may question our true place in the grand scheme of things
It is helpful to think of this card not just as a rigid set of rules and doctrine of a specific religion, but more of a path for spiritual growth. No label required
When this card appears in a reading the universe is asking you/the querent to seek advice or clarity around your/their own beliefs around life and your own life's purpose. That advice might also come from within, that is, looking deep inside yourself to discover/uncover the real truths that guide your thoughts, beliefs, or actions
