The Healing Affects of Sound
Have you ever heard the phrase "music soothes the savage beast"? Science (for those who feel more comfortable with some real proof) has proven that sound frequencies, including music, have definable and exact influences on the human body, including the mind. Certain frequencies can have harmful effects but others have very positive effects of people, even healing There are a lot of published works, and websites and Youtube channels, that address these facts. Facts, not fiction like some may still believe. These facts, and my own belief and experiences, led me to study sound therapy. I have used tuning forks, for example, on my own body to help speed healing. Drums, bells, chimes, and "singing bowls" are also used to help people heal. And remember, we are not just talking physical health here, we are also talking mental health Hospitals and other health care centers have used sound therapy, for example, to help patience relax before surgeries. Supermarkets, restaurants, and malls use music to elicit certain responses from shoppers and diners. I will delve deeper in to this topic, if community members wish me to, in a future post.
