My camera lithium battery was almost 7 years old and it was discharging sooner than usual.
Researching replacement indicated using a original manufacturer is the safest choice even it significantly of higher cost.
So I opted for the original manufacturer and ordered one online.
It finally arrived, opened the packaging, put it in the charger.
Later I looked at the battery date information. It is 6.5 years since it was manufactured. Lithium batteries degrade immediately after they were manufactured.
"Lithium batteries age chemically from the day they are assembled, not the day they are first put into a camera. A 6-year-old battery—even in a sealed box—will typically have significantly less capacity than one made this year."
I'm waiting for the seller to respond. I'll the you know in comments.
