How many times do we wait for something to happen before finally making a decision?
We wait for someone to tell us what to do. For the right opportunity to appear. For the relationship to change. For the fear to disappear. For life to send us such a clear signal that it's no longer possible to postpone what we know we need to do.
And sometimes, we also wait for someone to come and save us. To show us the way, make the difficult decisions for us, and free us from what we feel we can't face.
But the truth is, no one can live our lives for us.
We can receive support, guidance, love, and inspiration. We can ask for help when we need it. But the choice to act, to change, to say "yes," to say "no," and to start over belongs to us.
Taking responsibility doesn't mean blaming ourselves for everything that happens to us. Nor does it mean believing that we control the world, people, or circumstances. It means recognizing that, even when we don't control what happens outside of us, we can choose how we respond and the next step we take.
> Life begins to change when we stop waiting for someone to save us and start trusting the person who can take the reins: ourselves.
Perhaps the sign you've been waiting for won't come from outside.
Perhaps it's the part of you that already knows it's time to choose, to move, and to build the path you want to take.
Today, ask yourself: What decision have I been postponing while waiting for something—or someone—who can never choose for me?
