The Mountain Path
We are taught to believe that growth is linear: choose a direction, work hard, and keep moving forward. But real growth rarely looks like a straight line. It feels more like crossing a range of mountains. You climb. You reach a new height. For a moment, you can see further than before. And then, suddenly, the world you thought you knew begins to fall apart.
When we realise that life is different from what we imagined, it can be deeply unsettling. The version of the world we trusted no longer exists. We begin to see realities we may not like. And perhaps the hardest part is seeing ourselves differently too:
Have I been living on autopilot?
Do I truly know who I am?
That is where deconstruction begins.
Before discovering who we are, we often need to understand who we are not. Old beliefs, relationships, work patterns, friendships and ways of being can no longer fit. What once felt familiar may begin to feel too small.
This is not failure. It is a form of awakening. But embracing a new version of yourself is not always easy—especially when your environment keeps pulling you back towards the person you used to be.
This is where the real inner work starts: meeting the wounds, the discomfort, the fears and the situations we would rather avoid. Not once, but again and again.
And perhaps that is life. Not a straight path towards a final version of ourselves, but a continuous process of letting go, rebuilding and returning to what is true within our hearts.
Which part of yourself are you being invited to let go of—and what might be waiting for you on the other side?
