Product Spotlight 001 - B&L Shunt Busbar
These days, majority of systems created use a shunt. Shunts are a super handy way of keeping track of battery state of charge, as well as measuring net current flow in or out or power being used, some shunts even plot this data for you to look back on later. These are especially useful for lithium systems as they have such a flat voltage curve as the battery is discharged.
However, if you have a mid sized system with a few charge and discharge components, it can be tricky to get all negative cables back to the shunt neatly and in a compact way.
This shunt busbar fits straight onto most common shunts, and provides 4x M8 posts for the connection of negative cables, while only increasing the size of the shunt minimally.
Super convenient if you have a compact setup, or don't want to run a negative busbar for whatever reason.
I've used these in a couple of builds now and can't fault them.
The guys at B&L Custom Electrical in Melbourne do some great work in solving little problems like this for us, it's earned a well deserved place on this list.
