The Walmart Grant is OPEN!
10 GRANTS
______________________________________________________________________
Please note that I 'copied and pasted' an application checklist (most common) from a funder. I'm sharing because, believe it or not, some funders will still require your application and supporting documents to be mailed. It is imperative that applicants follow directions. This one requires 2 copies of the application and has specific instructions on where it should be sent via "snail" mail.

The approval and check issuance will take up to three months, so please plan accordingly.
Applicants will be notified by mail of approval or denial. All decisions are final, but
applicants may apply at a later date for consideration of a different program or project.
Application Materials
Funding requests will not be considered unless they include all of the required elements
listed below. Please check off all items submitted and include this checklist with your
completed grant application.
☐ Grant Application and Program Narrative
☐ Detailed budget for specific project/program for which organization is seeking funding
☐ Copy of previous year and current year budget, itemizing income and expenses
☐ Copy of IRS determination letter, granting 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
☐ Prior year’s copy of 990, including a list of major donors
☐ Certified copy of audited financial statements for the most recently completed fiscal
year is strongly preferred, however a review may be considered
☐ List of Board of Directors and their affiliated organizations
☐ Resumes or background statements of the organization’s executive director and other
senior members
☐ Most recent annual report and other organization material, if available

Some funders will even require a Letter of Intent before they request an application. If directions require you to send it by mail, then a professional letterhead with "business address", professional (private) email address, business phone number, organization's logo, etc should be listed on the letterhead.
Please note, I am not saying that you will NOT get the grant if these things are not in place, but what I am saying is that it stands out and improves your chances of being chosen.
