I recently received outreach from the Department of Defense’s Office of Small Business Programs regarding their continued push toward industrial base growth and vendor expansion.
The signal is clear:
The government is actively working to bring in more suppliers✔ Barriers to entry are gradually being reduced - Efforts are underway to better align industry capabilities with mission needs
For those operating in the DLA space, this is worth paying attention to—not as a distraction, but as a directional indicator.
More vendors entering the ecosystem doesn’t just mean more opportunity… it also means more competition.
Which makes one thing even more important:
Execution.
The contractors who build disciplined, repeatable systems now—focused on sourcing, compliance, and delivery, will be in a stronger position as the field becomes more crowded.
In this environment, awareness matters, but execution wins.
