MIX BUSS TIP 🚀 - Glue it
Here's a solid mix buss tip:
Use gentle compression with a slow attack and a low ratio (e.g., 1.5:1 to 2:1) to glue your mix together without crushing transients.
- Attack: 20-50ms (to let punchy transients through)
- Release: Auto or set by ear (match the groove of the track)
- Gain reduction: 1-2 dB max (keep it subtle)
This adds cohesion and polish without making the mix feel lifeless. If it starts pumping too much, back off the threshold or slow down the release.
Bonus: If your compressor has a mix knob, try parallel mix buss compression (e.g., 50% wet) for added impact while keeping dynamics.
