Hi there! Welcome to Coaching Supervision. I love coaching! It is THE most effective people support and development mechanism. It is ethical and the ultimate opportunity to work with the individual, finding the things that work for them. Today I was honoured to coach someone experiencing PTSD. They were able to identify what works for them when they have an effective response to situations. We then superimposed that on the triggering experience. The outcomes was a happy coachee who knows something more about themselves and is able to put their resourcefulness into practice. In this group, we will be exploring coaching through a number of different routes. I've said that I want this Skool account to be informative, enjoyable, creative, focused and fun! The dreaded NCIP!
Hey all! Thanks for last night’s session, I thoroughly enjoyed our discussion and am so grateful for all your thoughts and input into coaching neurodivergent clients. So… my accreditation is important to me, and since starting my business I’ve been with NCIP. However, I realise that their plans for a coaching platform have never materialised, and communication from them is non existent. Last year I began to explore other options, as having accreditation is important for lots of reasons, but specifically so if you are running a business. When renewal came up for me last year, I panicked and also took out a membership with ICF, thinking that was me accredited, to discover the enormous expense, time and effort to actually get accreditation with them. The expectation to record coaching hours, an exam, and essentially going through a rigorous process again, as if starting a coaching qualification all over again. And the eye watering expense of it all (thousands of pounds). I raised it again this week because I had an offer in my inbox from an ICF Coach who was running a cheaper version of this reaccreditation (ie £1250) and my panic was that the price was increasing last night to £2500. I’ve since given myself a talking to and have explored elsewhere - I’m currently looking at AC - much cheaper, less onerous - the only thing for me is that I don’t have the 250 hours of coaching for the ‘coach’ status and would probably have to apply for the ‘foundation’ accreditation. They also ask for a reference from a supervisor, so I’m keeping everything crossed that might be something Louise can do - but I don’t even know if they would recognise NCIP accredited courses - I’m emailing this week, so I can let you know what their response is. Anyways, sorry for the long DM, but I’d really love to know if you have managed to negotiate this process away from NCIP and what avenue you have taken/ plan to take?
