You May Have Noticed Things Have Been a Little Quiet…
If you’ve noticed the community has been a bit quieter recently, that’s because a lot of work has been happening behind the scenes. Over the past few weeks I’ve been building something much bigger that will be launching later in the summer term… The GCSE English Excellence Community This will be a structured learning space designed specifically to help Year 10 and Year 11 students develop the skills needed to succeed in GCSE English Literature and Language. Inside the community, students will have access to: 📚 Live lessons linked to key literature texts and English Language skills, delivered by qualified teachers 🎯 A programme designed specifically for Year 10 and Year 11 students 👩‍🏫 Ongoing support and guidance from experienced teachers and examiners 🧠 Wellbeing and revision modules to help students stay confident and organised 📊 Assessment points to track and monitor student progress 📝 Structured units of work covering key GCSE topics The goal is to create a space where students can build confidence, improve their skills step by step and feel fully prepared for their exams. More details will be coming soon… For now, keep your eyes peeled 👀

Wellbeing Wednesday: Confidence Comes from Preparation
With exams approaching, it’s completely normal for students to feel pressure, uncertainty or even self-doubt. What many students don’t realise is that confidence isn’t something you either have or don’t have. It’s something you build through small, consistent actions. Confidence grows when students: • Practise regularly • Become familiar with exam questions • Strengthen their skills step by step • See their own progress over time Even just 20 minutes of focused practice a few times per week can make a huge difference to how students feel and perform. Parents, do you have any other nuggets of advice you can advise our teenagers with?

📚 English Language Live Lesson - Tomorrow!
📚 Throwback Thursday 😅
Student in September: “I’ll start revising in January… loads of time.” Student in January: “I’ll start after mocks… still loads of time.” Student in March: “Okay but Easter holidays are PERFECT for revision.” Student in May: 👀📖💀 Reality Check 😄 The best time to start building strong habits? Not tomorrow. Not Easter. Now. Even 20 minutes of: • Practising an extract • Learning 3 key quotes • Writing one PETAL paragraph … puts you ahead of where you were yesterday. Parents - this is a gentle nudge for you too! Small, consistent steps now = calmer, more confident teens later. Comment below with: 📖 if revision has officially begun 😅 if we’re still “thinking about it” Let’s keep it honest 👇
