What Nirvana Nutrition is, and why I'm building it!
For anyone curious, here's the honest version of what I'm building and where it's at. The problem first. Most parents of young kids spend a good chunk of every day just working out what to feed them. Not cooking it, working out what it should be. Is this right for their age? Did they get enough iron today? Is this a choking risk? Does it clash with an allergy you're managing? Then you do it again tomorrow, and the answers keep changing as they grow. In our house the hardest part is the uncertainty. My daughter will eat veggies whole one day and refuse them the next, and you're left guessing every single time. Here's what the app does. It builds a weekly meal plan for your child's age, texture stage and allergen profile. It makes sure each day adds up nutritionally for where they are developmentally. It tells you what to prep and when. And if they refuse the planned dinner, it finds something equivalent that works instead. Where it's at right now. The app is in active development. I've got a working meal catalogue of just over 100 meals and growing, a nutrition engine, a safety framework built against paediatric guidelines, and a planner that puts age-appropriate plans together. It's not launched yet. This community exists because I want real parents shaping it before anyone else gets their hands on it. If something I build doesn't match how your family actually eats, that's exactly what I want to hear. The parents who get involved early are the ones who end up with the most influence over the final thing. More to come every Friday. Chris

Welcome to Nirvana Parents. Start here!
Welcome, and thanks for being here early. This community is small on purpose. You're one of the first parents in, which means you've got more say in what it becomes than anyone who shows up later. A few things to start with. First, please introduce yourself. Reply below with your child's age, the one feeding thing that drives you up the wall, and the one meal that always works. Second, tell me what you actually want from this. I have my own ideas, but you're the person I'm building it for. What would make you open this community every week? Third, here's the rhythm. Every Monday I'll post a practical feeding tip for the 6 to 60 month range. Every Friday I'll share what I've been building and what I've learned that week, including the weeks that don't go to plan. This isn't a polished brand account. I'm a dad building something in the open. Some weeks will be messier than others, and I'll be honest when something hasn't worked. Glad you're here. Chris
🧠 Parent Lab #2: How do you remember the meals your kids actually liked?
One thing I’ve been learning from other families... Meal planning isn’t actually the hard part anymore. AI can suggest hundreds of recipes in seconds. The hard part is remembering real life. - Which dinners were actually eaten? - Which recipes were rejected? - Which meals did they actually eat away from home? (at Grandma's / Daycare / Local Restaurant, etc.) Six weeks later… would you remember? How do you remember the meals your kids actually liked?

🍳 Before It Hits the App… #1
Every week, I’m going to share one meal we’re considering adding to the Nirvana Nutrition app before it goes into the catalogue. This week’s candidate is Mickey’s Maple Harvest Plate (see the pic of my attempt below 😁) The goal isn’t to make Instagram-perfect food. The goal is to create meals that busy parents will actually cook, and kids will actually eat. So here’s my question… Would this realistically make it into your family’s weekly dinner rotation? 👍 Yes 🤔 Maybe 👎 No And if you answered “Maybe” or “No”… What’s the biggest thing stopping you? (Recipe in the comments 👇) Prep time? Ingredients? Your child would never touch it? Too much washing up? Something else? Every answer genuinely helps shape what makes it into the app, and what goes straight back to the drawing board.

Parent Lab: Does your meal plan ever survive the actual week? 😂
Parent Lab question for today 👇 I’m learning that the real problem with meal plans isn’t always “did the kids eat it?” Sometimes it’s: • We ate out instead • Grandma/someone else handled dinner • We made something easier, or dinner took too long, and everyone gave up 😂 One parent testing a plan this week made a Thursday dinner on Wednesday, then had to explain that it wasn’t “skipped” or “eaten out”… it just moved days. That feels very real to me. When you plan meals for the week, what happens most often?
