Deliverance from CPTSD, major depression and anxiety disorder symptoms
Bonjour all, I’m Bobbie! In March, after years of denying God, I was on my knees asking Jesus into my life. Broken, lost, confused, and feeling completely alone, I felt a pull to Him. Almost like He was there, taking me by the hand and then embracing me, telling me He loves me. I can’t really explain it any other way. So, before accepting Jesus into my life, I was going to therapy, taking medications for depression and anxiety, and really trying to do the work in fixing the damaged parts of myself. I was committed, and I was trying. I noticed subtle little changes, but the anxiety and fear was still there, the depression was still there. Even with doing all these things, narcissistic abuse recovery therapy, group therapies, trauma therapies, all the things that I was expecting to help me through was actually still leaving me empty. Yeah, we could pump each other full of positivity while around, but at the end of the day when I was left alone, that positive energy that was poured into me quickly turned to loneliness and despair. I felt empty, like everyone was pouring into a bottomless well. Until Jesus Christ entered my life. The peace, the love, the kindness I felt that day and have felt since has been unlike anything I’ve felt before. Since then, I’ve been on fire for my savior! One night, I was talking with my sister on the phone about how my medications made me feel, and afterwards I prayed to the Lord about it. I felt so disconnected from myself, and I told Jesus if it’s His will please let me know. The next morning, I was going to take my medications and Lord Jesus Christ told me no. I’m so serious. Since then, I have not been in the mental states I used to be in. My anxiety, depression, and even symptoms of CPTSD have been manageable, and it is all because of Christ. God’s word, and learning who I am as a daughter of God, and getting to know Jesus and understanding the depth of His love for me, has pulled me from the very deep, dark pit I was in. I feel lighter, and I’m able to find joy, because there was no such thing as joy when I was in the pit. I find peace, love, and calm when all I knew was sadness, despair, shame, and fear.
Patience and trusting the process
Does anyone else struggle with patience? I’ve noticed in my journey with God going through this book, that I find myself trying too hard and moving too fast, almost like if I go through the book quickly I’ll understand everything. 😅 Sometimes I even feel like if I’m too slow or if I take my time, I’m not getting anything out of it or nothing is happening. I am ADHD, and I’ve always been one to constantly move on to the next thing and always feeling like I need to know every little detail right then or there. Welp, I am now learning with Jesus, it takes time. His timing is perfect, and it’s about the journey and the transformation and trusting that He will reveal to me what I need in HIS time. I’ve trusted in myself for most of my life, so trusting that He knows what He is doing almost feels like breaking my brain (if that makes sense). Maybe it’s a call to surrender my control? 🤔 All that being said, with the Holy Spirit guiding me, I’m realizing I can’t rush the process, speed running through sections isn’t going to bring about knowledge, and I can’t force change. Slow down, take your time, and enjoy the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ and His perfectly timed revelations in your life. He knows what you need when you need it. Hope this helps anyone who may be struggling with patience. (If my writing is all over the place, it’s cuz I write how I speak, all over the place 🤣)
