I Watch Other Moms Build Online and It Made Me Sick With Envy
Now I understand what that envy is telling me. Not jealousy exactly. Something more specific. More uncomfortable. That particular ache when you see someone building the thing you want to build, living the version of life you want and your stomach does something you're not proud of. I felt guilty about it for a long time. Like it meant something bad about who I was. Then I realised: envy is just desire wearing an ugly coat. It's not telling you that I am a bad person. It's telling me that I want something, clearly, specifically, urgently enough to feel it in my body when someone else has it. That's information. Not a flaw. So now, when I feel that pull, I don't push it down anymore. I ask it one question: what is this actually telling me to build? And then I go build one small piece of it. That ache isn't your enemy.
