What to do when you get no views?
Getting no views is one of the most frustrating things in content. I'm battling it right now on my personal YouTube channel as I get back in the game after years away.
Quick context so this lands right: this is a cold restart on a personal channel I ignored for a decade. It's not our client work, where the systems are already dialed and driving results. I'm rebuilding in public on purpose so you can watch the diagnosis happen in real time.
Here's exactly how I read a "no views" problem:
  • You went quiet. Over the last 10 years I stopped posting consistently, so any audience I built moved on to new creators. Trust resets when you disappear.
  • Small market is fine. Low views up to 10K is normal when the audience you want isn't huge. Right buyers beat big numbers.
  • No views means the packaging is off. When a video gets nothing, the title and thumbnail aren't dialed in yet. That's the first thing to fix.
  • Build for search first. Make content the search engine can find, then graduate to curiosity-driven titles later. "How to" videos win early in the journey.
  • No traffic means no views. A video with no clicks coming in from search, suggested, or your other content will sit flat no matter how good it is. Distribution is part of the job, not an afterthought.
That's the same checklist I'd run on any account. The only difference is this time it's mine, and you get to see it play out.
