One of the most freeing lessons Jesus ever taught His disciples is found in Luke 9:5:
"If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them."
Jesus was teaching His disciples that rejection is inevitable—but carrying rejection is optional.
Too many people allow one closed door, one unanswered prayer, one failed opportunity, one broken relationship, or one "no" to define their future. Jesus said, don't carry it. Shake the dust off and keep moving.
Your assignment is greater than your disappointment.
As Kingdom men and women, we are called to remain faithful, not popular. We are responsible for our obedience, not everyone else's response. Don't let yesterday's rejection rob you of today's purpose.
This Week's Kingdom Challenge
Before you go to bed tonight, ask yourself:
- What rejection am I still carrying?
- Is there disappointment I need to surrender to God?
- What assignment have I delayed because of fear or past failure?
Then pray:
"Father, I choose to shake the dust off. I release every rejection, disappointment, offense, and closed door to You. Cleanse my heart, strengthen my faith, and help me walk boldly into the next assignment You've prepared for me. I choose to carry my cross—not my rejection. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Remember this:
Don't carry the dust. Carry the mission.
👇 I'd love to hear from you.
What "dust" has God been calling you to shake off so you can move forward in your Kingdom assignment?
