A while ago, I went into a book store and came across an entire section on wealth generation. It seems that more than ever, books are being written on the accumulation of money and wealth.
A lot of them however are complete fluff! Nothing new, and the only wisdom they give is the same nonsense you read about years ago.
As I came out of the bookshop it made me think about some of the most influential stoics. Some of them, (Seneca for example) had enormous wealth during their time.
Then I thought about some great leaders gone by who practiced some form of stoicism. There's a great article from Ryan Holiday about them, but George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt were a few to mention.
In fact, I modern times the likes of Arnold Schwarznegger are famous practitioners of stoicism.
So I think there's a pattern. I believe stoicism has helped me forge a great career in business also. Tell us what you think about the influence of Stoicism in making money.
