Most fighters train the calf kick wrong
When I watch guys practicing, I often see the “traditional” version: a nice combination, finished off with a calf kick. The problem? That’s not how it actually shows up in competition.
In real fights, calf kicks usually land in two ways:
  1. As a direct attack
  2. When the opponent is stepping forward
If you only train it as a finishing touch to a combo, you’ll miss the timing and the setups that make it effective under pressure.
The key is learning how to use your feet and positioning to create the opening. Here’s one way I like to do it 👇
